448nm High Power 3500mW, Nichia Blue Laser Diode Overview:
These Nichia model NDB7A75 laser diodes are high power blue lasers which emit at a center wavelength of 448 nm. They are manufactured by Nichia, Japan, and offered by CivilLaser. The rated output power for these devices in CW mode is 3.5 Watts and they offer an exceptionally high pulse power of up to 7 Watts. The package type is a three pin 9mm (TO-5) can with a storage temperature of -40 to 85 ℃ and an operating temperature of 0℃ to 50℃. These models do not have an integrated monitor photo-diode. They do have an integrated zener diode to protect the laser chip against transient power surges. The two pins are electrically floating and are not tied to ground. Caution should be used when handling these devices with full ESD protection measures to ensure long operating life.

Proper Handling and Operation of Laser Diodes:
Laser diodes are highly susceptible to damage from ESD and from temperatures exceeding their specified safe operating range.
